Last Tuesday, February 4th, Cine Paz in Madrid hosted the premiere of Amy, the psychological horror film directed by Ismael Luna. The movie has been praised for its unsettling atmosphere and suspenseful narrative.

The event was attended by the film’s team, who traveled from Mallorca for the occasion, including Rubén Gallardo, the composer of the original soundtrack. After the screening, some of the project's participants held a discussion where Gallardo spoke about the challenging process of creating the music and the importance of capturing the film's essence through sound.

Amy tells the story of Alan (played by Guiem Juaneda) and his car, a 1990 Nissan 300zx, which takes on a life of its own and turns his devotion into a spiral of jealousy and terror. The vehicle's personification, embodied by Aina Zuazaga, gives an unexpected twist to the protagonist’s relationship with his most prized possession.
Filmed in Mallorca a year ago, the production has already begun its journey through international festivals, receiving multiple official selections and recognitions.
The soundtrack, one of the film's standout elements, was developed over more than six months. Inspired by the sound of the 1980s and iconic composers like John Carpenter, it blends synthesizers with classical orchestration to immerse the audience in a unique cinematic experience. During the discussion, it was exclusively announced that the soundtrack is now being prepared for release, an exciting revelation for those in attendance.

The pre-premiere of Amy had already taken place on July 18th in Palma de Mallorca, where family, backers, and crew members had the chance to enjoy an early screening. On that occasion, the audience praised the film’s meticulous characterization, visual atmosphere, and especially the soundtrack, which was acclaimed for its ability to transport viewers to the 1980s with its unmistakable synth-driven soundscapes.
The success of Amy and its music promises a promising festival run, further establishing Ismael Luna as an emerging talent in the horror genre.
